Nitrous & Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is a great option for those who may be a little apprehensive, or for longer procedures.

Nitrous is also known as “laughing gas.” It is administered by a mask that’s placed over your nose, and you breath in. It takes about 30-60 seconds to kick in. You are fully awake during this time, but you feel very relaxed. At the end of treatment, 100% oxygen is administered and within 5 minutes, you feel completely normal again. This is a great option as you can drive yourself to the appointment and back home. Nitrous is also extremely safe and effective for kids!

For those who may be a little bit more apprehensive or for longer procedures, oral sedation is a great option. Medication is taken the night before to help you get a good night sleep, and then the following morning another medication is taken when you get to the office. You still are awake but are even more relaxed and have no cares in the world. In this option, you do need a driver to bring you to the office and take you home after your appointment.

These two options can also be combined for additional relaxation.

But wait, there’s more!
