Dr. Erica is from the cornfields of Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she spent most of her time on the softball field (a sport she played through college). And funny enough, it was her love of softball that led her to dentistry. During seventh grade, she had the opportunity to job shadow her coach—who also happened to be her family’s dentist. She was amazed at the skill and care he had for his profession and his patients, but was surprised to find just how much fun he had doing it. It was then she decided that when she grew up she wanted to be dentist.  

Thirteen years later, she graduated with her DDS from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and has been practicing in the Chicagoland area ever since.  Prior to dental school, she attended Taylor University where she first met her husband, Trevor, as student co-leaders in the admissions department (and a decade later, they’re back working together at The Dental Studio!). At Taylor, she earned her undergrad degree in psychology, which set the foundation for her emphasis on patient comfort and understanding the fear or anxiety a trip to the dentist sometimes brings.

Beyond maintaining clinical excellence, Dr. Erica loves to build lasting relationships. She chose to open The Dental Studio to do just that—get to know people better by creating a safe and comfortable environment to provide the best possible dental care.
